To All Footie Fanatics!

The HLRA Management Committee has agreed that we should investigate the possibility of screening World Cup matches (England's in particular, but others as well) in the Sports Pavilion Clubroom. From HLRA's point of view, we would have to purchase a large-screen TV and a TV licence and install an aerial and members would only have to turn up, bring their own 4/6-packs (we have no licence to sell liquor), pay a £1.00 match fee at the door to help defray expenses, sit down and enjoy!
In offering to set this up, we appreciate that England v USA is on Sat 12 June at 7.30pm, the Algeria match is Fri 18 June at 7.30pm and the match v Slovenia is Wed 23 Jun at 3pm (and that, for the Wed match, people will probably have to take a half-day's leave and may not want to come back to Harwell in the evenings), but there are plenty of other "worth-watching" matches at various times of the week and day.
The offer to screen the World Cup is made in the knowledge that footie fans would rather watch as an interested group than fight for the TV at home (alone!), so here's your chance to make a noise and enjoy the atmosphere without the fear of the wife hiding the remote!
